Learning Outputs:

After completing this program, Graduate will be able to:

A1: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and theories in the field of general culture, mathematics, and basic engineering science for the communication and networks engineering.

A2: Explain the basic concepts, theories and principles of specialized engineering science in field of computer networks and communications engineering.

A3: Determine the importance of computer networks and communications systems, their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, with a focus on contemporary issues of designing, securing and implementing computer networks and communication systems.

A4: Describe evolution of generations of computer networks and different communication systems and the advantages and disadvantages of each generation accurately.

B1: Analyze data for communications and computer network applications, interpret and draw conclusions in a systematic way.

B2: Devise appropriate solutions to the problems of communications and network engineering and related sciences.

B3: Compare between the different alternatives to solve the problems of communication systems, computer networks and related science and choose the appropriate ones according to the required specifications.

B4: Analyze the shortcomings in communication systems and networks and devises appropriate mechanisms for their development.

C1: Design efficiently communications systems and networks and their software, taking into account the financial, social, health, ethical and industrial determinants.

C2: Conduct practical experiments and uses electrical, electronic and computer tools and techniques, and engineering software related to the specialty effectively.

C3: Use statistical and mathematical methods in analyzing and interpreting problems in computer networks and communication systems effectively.

C4: Simulate communication systems and networks using appropriate engineering modeling and simulation software.

D1: Communicate effectively with others and present his ideas clearly and objectively.

D2: develop his scientific and professional capabilities in the field of his specialization and engages himself in lifelong learning.

D3: Work alone or in a team and manages engineering teams efficiently, taking into account the ethics of the profession.

D4: Exercise analytical and critical thinking skills effectively in solving problems that face him and makes appropriate decisions.

 

Graduate Attributes of the program:

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will be able to:

  1. Use basic mathematics, skills of basic science, and engineering concepts to work as a distinguished communication and networks engineer.
  2. Demonstrate a broad theoretical and practical background and employ it in the analysis, design and solution problems of communication engineering and computer networks.
  3. Prepare and conduct engineering experiments and analyze specific requirements in order to provide optimal solutions.
  4. Identify contemporary issues for the design, security and implementation of computer networks and communication systems.
  5. Design networks / services / systems / processes required that meet specific needs using constraints and tools in communication engineering and computer networks.
  6. Clarify the impact of communication engineering and computer networks on both the economy and society level.
  7. Deal with modern tools and obtain the required competency in field of communication engineering and computer networks.
  8. Creativity, leadership, teamwork, responsibility and professional ethics.
  9. Continuing self-development and continuous learning through scientific research, postgraduate studies, self-learning and professional activity.
  10. Contribute to community service while maintaining professional and ethical behavior.
  11. Follow up on modern technologies in field of communication engineering and computer networks and related fields.

Al-Hikma University is a private educational institution officially licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with the number 1358 dated 26/7/2008 AD. The activity of the Al-Hikma Educational Foundation began in 2004 under the name of the University Institute for Medical Specialties, then the name of the College of Wisdom was added in 2007 AD for technical and administrative majors with a license from the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the Ministry of Education, Technical Training and Vocational Training, respectively.
