Learning Outputs:

After completing this program, Graduate will be able to:

A1: show knowledge and understanding of concepts and principles related to general culture and basic sciences and basic, health, administrative and marketing sciences, among others.

A2: Explain concepts and principles related to the pharmaceutical sciences and the physical and chemical properties of the various materials used in preparing medicines.

A3: Explain classifications of medicines, methods of preparation, mechanism of action, its use and its side effects.

A4: Accurately describe the role of the pharmacist in providing health care and spreading awareness about the safe use of medicine.

B1: practice different critical thinking and mental skills to compare drug profiles of different companies and in solving problems related to pharmaceutical preparations and related sciences and proposing appropriate solutions to them.

B2: Analyze problems and assesses risks related to drugs and other chemicals with toxic effects.

B3: choose the appropriate methods to conduct drug analysis, synthesize, purify, identify and calibrate the active ingredients from different sources.

B4: Effectively assess and interprets prescriptions and results of various laboratory and clinical investigations

C1: Efficiently conduct experiments and laboratory tests related to the field of pharmacy and interprets their results in a correct scientific manner.

C2: Install pharmaceutical preparations according to the rules of good manufacturing and professionally calculate their dosages for different age groups.

C3: Employ clinical skills in diagnosing various diseases, dealing with them and providing the correct treatment for them.

C4: Use tools and devices in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory analysis and related sciences, and deals with various chemicals and pharmaceutical preparations in a safe and effective manner.

D1: Perform the tasks assigned to him, alone or within a team, with full efficiency, taking into account the legal legislations and professional ethics.

D2: Practice communication, marketing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills effectively and efficiently

D3: Employ information and communication technology applications in developing his scientific and professional capabilities.

D4: Manage and supervises projects related to the specialization efficiently.

 

Graduate Attributes of the program:

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of basic, pharmaceutical, medical, social, and behavioral sciences related to pharmaceutical practice.
  2. Apply the different quantitative and qualitative analytical methods, and good manufacturing practices standards in controlling the quality of raw materials, products and pharmaceuticals.
  3. Effective and safe handling of chemicals and pharmaceutical products when used, distributed and stored, in compliance with relevant legislation and laws.
  4. Synthesis and preparation of pharmaceutical products from various sources, and participation in systems related to dispensing, storage and distribution of medicines.
  5. Dispense the prescriptions that were prescribed to the patient and explain the information related to them (drug doses, drug interactions, side effects) in addition to his ability to detect errors in the prescriptions provided
  6. Perform the responsibilities and practices of the pharmacy, in accordance with the ethical, legal and professional rules of pharmacy.
  7. Contribute to educating patients and members of health care teams about the rational use of drugs and medical devices.
  8. Participate with other health care professionals in conducting research and solving problems related to the profession of pharmacy, and in systems related to dispensing, storage and distribution of medicines
  9. Demonstrate the ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions, manage time, and work in a team in pharmacy practices
  10. Self-learning and continuous, and to practice presentation skills, promotion, marketing, leadership, business management, digital and computer skills.
  11. Communicate effectively and ethically with patients, healthcare workers and others.
  12. Planning, designing and conducting research using appropriate methodologies.

Al-Hikma University is a private educational institution officially licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with the number 1358 dated 26/7/2008 AD. The activity of the Al-Hikma Educational Foundation began in 2004 under the name of the University Institute for Medical Specialties, then the name of the College of Wisdom was added in 2007 AD for technical and administrative majors with a license from the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the Ministry of Education, Technical Training and Vocational Training, respectively.
